Meet RIPSAW.
Our founder Kyle Sulkar walks through what changed from the Hyper+ and who RIPSAW is built for.
Under the face.
Drag the blade across the paddle. Under the RIPSAW face is the same full-foam core that built the Hyper+.
3D renders of the RIPSAW build.
Make them hit one more ball.
The point does not always go to the hardest hitter. RIPSAW is tuned for the player who builds the rally, waits for the ball that sits up, and then goes to work.
-
1Absorb the drive
The ball comes in hot. A slightly calmer response takes pace off it, so your block drops into the kitchen instead of sitting up for their next swing.
-
2Work the kitchen
Crosscourt, down the middle, a roll to the feet. Durable grit gives you something to shape the ball with, dink after dink, until they give you the one you want.
-
3Choose the counter
They speed it up. You already have the answer. A more aggressive grip keeps the paddle locked in your hand when the hands battle starts.
Move over the face to inspect
Rough is a first impression. Durable is the point.
Spin starts where the ball meets the face. Texture creates the friction, and hours of play slowly polish it away. That is why a paddle can feel incredible in week one and ordinary by month three.
RIPSAW™ Grit Technology is CPX's state of the art durable grit, laid over a Tri-Layer carbon fiber blend face. It is built to hold its texture instead of just feeling rough out of the box, so the bite you feel on day one stays in your game for the long haul.
The objective
Bite on contact. Intent on every shot.
The fine print on grit
On many raw carbon paddles, the texture is an imprint in cured resin rather than exposed fiber, and different durable grit systems handle wear in different ways. We describe RIPSAW's design intent here, not a lab-rated wear life. Every surface wears with play.
Background reading on the category: Pickleball Effect on durable grit testing and Pickleball.com, The Year of Durable Grit. Neither article tests RIPSAW.
Same core. New game plan.
RIPSAW is the Hyper+ reworked for players who win with placement. The full-foam core carries over. The face, the grip and the response are new.

A grip that stays putA more aggressive grip feel than the original Hyper+, so the paddle stays locked in when the hands battle speeds up. -
The end capThe X and the HYPER+ mark finish the butt of the handle, so the build reads from every angle.

The first pre-order
That was the original Hyper+. RIPSAW starts from the same foam, so it is not starting from zero.
Development figures are from the Hyper+ story as reported by Jeff Fromm in Forbes, August 6, 2026. They describe the original Hyper+, not RIPSAW testing or sales.
RIPSAW is new, so it has no reviews of its own yet. These ratings belong to the Hyper+ and to CPX as a brand. Counts change over time.
Questions
No fluff. Just answers.
How is RIPSAW different from the Hyper+?
RIPSAW keeps the patent pending HYPERFOAM™ X Core and changes three things: a new durable grit face, a more aggressive grip feel and a slightly calmer response. It comes in one shape, Elongated, in army tan and black. If you love the Hyper+ for its pop, the Hyper+ is still the one. If you win points with touch and placement, RIPSAW is built for you.
What does durable grit actually mean?
A surface designed to hold its texture through play, not just feel rough out of the box. RIPSAW™ Grit Technology is CPX's state of the art durable grit face. Every surface wears eventually, so we do not promise a permanent finish, but holding the bite longer is the whole point of the design.
Does less pop mean less power?
It means a slightly softer immediate response off the face compared with the original Hyper+, which helps blocks, dinks and resets stay low. Put a full swing on it and you still have the HYPERFOAM™ X Core behind the ball. We are not claiming a specific change in ball speed, just a more measured feel at the kitchen.
What are the specs?
Elongated shape, 16mm Gen 5 HYPERFOAM™ X Core, a Tri-Layer carbon fiber blend face with RIPSAW™ Grit Technology (our durable grit), a more aggressive grip and an army tan edge guard. From our factory measurements, it averages 7.97 oz static weight, a 118 swing weight (±2) and a 6.1 twist weight. Every paddle varies slightly. The full spec list sits in the Specifications tab next to the price.
What comes in the box?
The RIPSAW paddle, a limited edition RIPSAW neoprene cover and a signature keychain.
When will my pre-order ship?
The first batch is scheduled to ship October 31, 2026, from our Chicago warehouse with free priority shipping. Orders are fulfilled in the order received, so earlier orders go out first. October 31 is the ship date, not the delivery date. You will get tracking the moment it leaves.
Is it tournament legal?
USA Pickleball approval is pending. Need a tournament paddle today? The Hyper+ is approved.
What if I do not like it?
Send it back within 90 days for a full refund, no restocking fee. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Keep it, and the lifetime warranty means we replace it free if it ever fails.
Are the reviews on this page for RIPSAW?
No. RIPSAW is brand new. The ratings on this page belong to the original Hyper+ and to CPX as a brand, and we label them that way so nobody is misled.
